Our final market of the summer is over and what a day. The day started out clear and cool and by the end of the day it had creeped up to 93 degrees and the 36 Pit Fire of Estacada took advantage of the cooling breeze. The Wade Creek House could see smoke in the sky behind and ahead but our airspace in town remained relatively smoke free. There was a time in the afternoon that we got a dusting of ash (and burnt needles) and check out the ash leaf that floated in. It was huge. We had one waiting for us at our house as well which is 3 miles further north.... More evacuations were called for from the rural areas and when we went by the First Baptist church where evacuees were headed, the parking lot was full. Not a good sign.
This fire is several miles out of town. The City of Estacada is OPEN and we are all looking forward to the rain forecasted to start Wednesday (and continues Thursday, Friday, Saturday...)!! Hold on amazing, appreciated by all, firefighters... help is on the way!
The Resonators - we will see more of them next summer!!
I want to say THANK YOU to our wonderful vendors, The Resonators, Joe Daddy's BBQ and our fabulous customers- even some from the threatened areas around Estacada!! As always, they found great treasures and amazing prices. We have some new ideas for next years markets so stay tuned!!
THE WADE CREEK HOUSE IS OPEN TODAY AND EVERY DAY (except for those special holidays) so stop by and check out our Fall merchandise and sign up for classes and workshops coming this Fall!
