WADE CREEK HOUSE ANTIQUES opened in 2007. Located in an old 1940's home, we have expanded many times so there are many areas for you to browse. Located on an acre in Estacada, Oregon, your children can visit with our chickens (yes, we sell eggs) as you look around.

We are much more than an antiques store. We host community fundraisers, have two
OUTDOOR VINTAGE MARKETS every summer and hold classes and workshops throughout the year. You can find details BELOW.

OUR VENDORS LOVE TO SHOP FOR YOU. They specialize in old, rusty, antique,
primitive, vintage, recycled, revived, repurposed, salvaged, scavenged, chippy, farm, collectibles, indoor and outdoor décor. Come and see what they have found
for you!!

DEBBIE

This is my beautiful niece who lost her battle with bone cancer on Wednesday September 24, 2014.  Her name is Debbie and she was 47 with a husband of 21 years and children ages 12 and 18.  She spent her entire life helping others by caregiving, being a special education professional, and last year she started her own business by sharing her journey to heath through diet on a blog and Facebook pages called "The Sour Path is the Sweetest".   Her amazing story about healthy food choices helped so many world wide. My family learned about her amazing impact on others as we were contacted by people from across the country and overseas. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in April 2014.

For me, Debbie was my friend, my daughter, my sister.  She loved to help me with my business and she was so much better at it than I.  From helping me with my blog and Facebook pages, suggesting helpful web sites that could help me make better flyers, and she recommended books that could help me take better pictures.  She also suggested helpful books to read when I struggled with some issues in my own business. When she needed distraction during hard times, "talk to me" was always about my business and hers.  She recently became a  Nutritional Therapist  and with that and her personal experiences she had planned to open her own practice this past summer.  We all need a champion like Debbie. She will be missed, but her spirit lives on in many.

She liked that I used quotes occasionally at the end of my posts.  It was her idea to use them more.  So ........

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

PHEW.....

Our final market of the summer is over and what a day.  The day started out clear and cool and by the end of the day it had creeped up to 93 degrees and the 36 Pit Fire of Estacada took advantage of the cooling breeze.  The Wade Creek House could see smoke in the sky behind and ahead but our airspace in town remained relatively smoke free.  There was a time in the afternoon that we got a dusting of ash (and burnt needles) and check out the ash leaf that floated in.  It was huge.  We had one waiting for us at our house as well which is 3 miles further north....   More evacuations were called for from the rural areas and when we went by the First Baptist church where evacuees were headed, the parking lot was full.  Not a good sign.

This fire is several miles out of town.  The City of Estacada is OPEN and we are all looking forward to the rain forecasted to start Wednesday (and continues Thursday, Friday, Saturday...)!!  Hold on amazing, appreciated by all,  firefighters... help is on the way!

The Resonators - we will see more of them next summer!!

I want to say THANK YOU to our wonderful vendors, The Resonators, Joe Daddy's BBQ and our fabulous customers- even some from the threatened areas around Estacada!!  As always, they found great treasures and amazing prices.  We have some new ideas for next years markets so stay tuned!!

THE WADE CREEK HOUSE IS OPEN TODAY AND EVERY DAY (except for those special holidays) so stop by and check out our Fall merchandise and sign up for classes and workshops coming this Fall!

ONE OF MY FAVORITES

WOOD BARN QUILT WORKSHOP

THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 (10:30 - 1pm) is one of my favorite classes.  I have taken it twice.  Here is a picture of my barn quilt on our shed at home.  Popularity of these wood barn quilts started in the Midwest and if you keep your eyes open, you will see them frequently.  Mainly they are used outdoors on your chicken house, a shed or barn but that is changing too!  Many of our customers

take them inside– would be wonderful in an entry, a kitchen or den or MY laundry room.. Hummm, maybe I will take it a 3rd time..  Where would you put yours??

You will be able to choose from hundreds of patterns and we have a variety of paint colors to choose from but if you have something special, you are welcome to bring your own.  All materials will be provided to make one 24" x 24" barn quilt in three colors.  AND, if you are messy like me, bring a paint shirt.  There is a  class size limit so call to reserve your spot.    503-630-7556   Cost is $35.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WADE CREEK HOUSE.....

We have come a long way...  from

to...

The Wade Creek House..... started by 4 crafty, vintage collecting nurses, a nurse's aide with a love for interior design and one crafty graphics designer.  The Wade Creek House was born seven years ago this month.  The vision was to support each other's passion, share our talents, and to support and give back to the community.  Though most of the original group has moved on, our vision remains the same.  We offer classes and workshops year around, have 4 major fundraisers each year that benefit the community, and invite the community and others to join in the fun at our OUTDOOR VINTAGE MARKETS.  AND of course, there are antiques, collectibles, primitives, vintage, repurposed, revived, salvaged, scavenged, rusty, old, junk found for us by the current Wade Creek House crafty collectors that we all love.

This is a special thank you to Jan, Karrin, Dellane, Chris, and Nancy for our beginning and a thank you to our customers for being part of our journey....

We look forward to much more in the future!  Stay tuned...

Life if full of unlimited possibilities......
