A Great Day

Our Garden Event was very fun.  We hope you had a chance to make it.  Phyllis and Terry at Old Farmhouse Nursery and Kim of Kimberly's Nursery furnished the beautiful hanging baskets, plants, and planters.  Laura Eyer, Kelly Wallaert and Matt "The Mole Lady", Daisy Teske, and our Nikki Mantei and Linda Bonner really made the day with their gardening seminars.  Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your day with us.

We have gotten lots of new merchandise including vintage garden, and outdoor furniture. It is that time of year

And with this piece you can use as a planter, is great filled with ice for those favorite beverages, or just wondeful to look at....

...

Don't you just love Carrie's potting bench??  And Jim's greenhouse?

This cute sedum filled birdbath.  Easy care for the garden.   We can all use that

This table would look great anywhere.... A cozy porch,  your office, sewing room, anywhere...

....

Imagine this in my kitchen...... oh, I mean your kitchen.   Don't think I haven't measured it ... this pie safe is a rare and wonderful find.

I could continue on but my computer is slowing down... or maybe it is me. But come and see us.  We have lots of wonderful items.

And check out Junes activities... June 9 is Nikki's Begininning Concrete Leaf Casting Workshop, June 16 is Linda's Framed Living Wall Garden Workshop and June 23 is our Estacada Flea Market where you can join us.  Sign up for a space and spend the day with us.  Details for these events are on the left side bar and at the shop.....

HAPPY Mother's Day

                                           M.O.T.H.E.R.

"M" is for the million things she gave me,

"O" means only that she's growing old,

"T" is for the tears she shed for me,

"H" is for her heart of purest gold;

"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,

"R" means right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

AND THE WINNERS ARE .... drum roll please

Patti Turner won the wonderful chicken coop donated by PGM Construction.  She and her birds are very happy.  Jane Kirchhofer won the beautiful chicken mosiac window donated by Amber Carpenter,  George and Marily Stursa won the body products donated by Terra Casa.  George and Marilyn have 6 new baby chicks and were crossing their fingers for that coop. Time for Plan B.  And Mary Shearing won the starter kit donated by Wilco Farm Store.   CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS!!!

We want to thank all our sponsors again and also to thank you, who supported our wonderful local 4-H group.  We raised $600 for them with the raffle.  The 4-H is also having a fundraising garage sale at the Springwater Grange this Saturday from 7am to noon.  Springwater Grange #263 is located near Estacada at 24591 S. Wallens Road. Take Highway 211 south, out of Estacada, and turn right on Wallens Road.

THIS IS THE PERFECT WAY TO START YOUR WEEK-END!  For you that don't know, the Springwater Grange hosts a wonderful $5 egg, bacon, biscuits, biscuits and gravy, and pancake breakfast  September - May.  It is held the first Saturday of the month.  This month proceeds from the breakfast go to the Ash Butte Grange, in Jefferson County , that burned down Easter morning.  No fire station support, no fire insurance so Granges throughout Oregon are trying to raise money to help rebuild.  SO you can attend a garage sale and have a wonderful breakfast all in the same place.  Then of course, come to The Wade Creek House to see what is new.  You will be glad you did!

The historic Ash Butte Grange Hall was fully engulfed in flames Sunday morning, after heat from a wood stove ignited material in the attic above the dining area.

SO WHAT IS NEXT??   May 12 is to make a Live Herb Wreath (if Nikki's herbs perk up) or live sedum wreath.
Then May 19 is our 5th Annual Spring Garden Fair where we have speakers throughout the day talking about:
10am - Why Compost? and How!
11am - Heirloom Vegetables with plants for sale
Noon - Moles - Learn what to do from the expert
1pm - Lavender - growing, propagating, cooking and crafting
2pm - Growing Microgreens - Natures Superfood
All seminars FREE!
Kimberly’s Garden Nursery & Old Farmhouse Nursery will be there offering a wide variety of plants, grasses, hanging baskets & planters.

I will be posting a new tour of the shop soon.   See you soon!
