WADE CREEK HOUSE ANTIQUES opened in 2007. Located in an old 1940's home, we have expanded many times so there are many areas for you to browse. Located on an acre in Estacada, Oregon, your children can visit with our chickens (yes, we sell eggs) as you look around.

Nikki called this an EPIC day....

What a wonderful day.... great 4H kids, sweet chickens, beautiful weather.... can't get any better than that.

Thank you to two wonderful chicken lovers... Mary and Nona Shearer who are loved by all.  Their knowledge of chickens was barely tapped, their love for the birds evident, and their singing the "chicken" song is always a hit.   We are thrilled at the great turnout - we met so many new friends.

A great crowd.. and lots of questions.  Us chicken lovers never know it all, never do it the same way, always want to hear how others care for their birds.  We got that yesterday.

And it was for the kids... our local 4H kids Odd Stock & Crafts 4H Club
This is part of  a note from them..

We were able to make chicken carriers. We now use our chicken carriers to take our chickens to shows and meetings. Some of the kids took them home and painted them to enter as wood working projects at the fair. One of the chicken carriers even made it to State Fair!
We were also able to get flowers and herbs for container gardens, as well as getting enough dirt for all of them too! We pruned, watered, and cared for these plants to enter in the Clackamas County Fair, and were ecstatic when some of them earned first and second place!

This year, we plan to get more wood and supplies to build chicken feeders for our chickens. We hope that we will be able to enter these in the fair this year, as well as to let our chickens enjoy.

The kids taught us a few things.  They showed us how to hold the birds, we learned a bit of anatomy, saw some different kinds of chickens.  They also demonstrated how they show their birds in competition.  They do a great job handling and caring for their chickens.

Our coop was on the tour... this was one of our visitors.  She was resting after playing with the dogs and chickens.   I couldn't resist taking her picture.

Thank you to all our coop owners for opening up their coops.  A thank you to our contributors: Tri-County HVAC Inc., to Precision Pet for the coop, Burns Feed Store, Wilco, Old Farmhouse Feed & Garden Center, Gerber Farm Supply, Clackamas Feed and Pet Supply, Estacada True Value, Animal Health Solutions, Backyard Poultry Magazine, Miller Family Farm, Hobby Farm Publications,  Mary Lake -Thompson Ltd., Storey Publishing, Tami Serhan at Ultra Ego Salon, & The Egg Carton Store.
And to Nikki Mantei who organized it all!
 Life is good!
