ITS BEGINNING TO LOOK ALOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

Once again time is passing by quickly and it is hard to believe that Santa will be at The Wade Creek House next Saturday.  And Christmas is just around the corner....Yikes!    How did that happen?  Many are more organized than me and Christmas surrounds us at the shop.  We are currently in the middle of our Holiday Gift Raffle, where each member has donated a gift basket or gift to be raffled on December 1.  All the money raised will be donated to Clackamas River Elementary School.  A great cause, great gifts.... its a win-win.  So stop by.   Look at my pictures for a peek of the shop.

IT HAS BEEN AWHILE

Happy Fall!!!  We have been so busy at the shop with our new spaces.   Come in for a visit and let us know what you think!

And save these dates.... October 13 is our Scarecrow Building Contest.  This is such great fun to enjoy as a family, a group (like Scouts) or just yourselves.  Then October 20, Linda is using vintage leave rake heads as the base to this years Fall Wreath Workshop.  Lots of fun heading your way.

I took a few pictures of the shop just to share with you.  I hope you enjoy them.

New and Improved

Things have been very busy at The Wade Creek House... the remodel/rearrange/redo (or whatever you call it) is finally finished.  No longer will you find boxes everywhere... instead newly created spaces.  I should have pictures to insert here but you will have to come see for yourself..   We have 2 new members with some really great stuff  - come and meet Sandy and Linda K.

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary this past weekend and enjoyed all the customers who came in to enjoy the savings.  And after that .... more to redo as we had great sales.  Loved it.

Whats next.. well an update on the girls (the chickens that  have been sitting on a nest of eggs forever.)   Red Rosie started sitting on the nest and then Blonde Betty joined her just before I thought they should hatch.  But hatch they never did.  So yesterday, I cleaned out the nest of rotten eggs and tried to explain to them that it didn't work.  I walked by the pen later and looked in and this is what I saw.

I am not sure if Blonde Betty is trying to console Red Rosie or trying to hatch her.  Very sweet.  When I checked on them today, they were back out with the rest of the chickens.

I also wanted to let you know that this weekend - Saturday September 22, Carrie is having her Monogram, Distressed Chair painting workshop.  She will teach you how to paint and distress a chair, reupholster the seat and add a monogrammed initial to the back.  Carrie provides everything, including the vintage chair which you will take home at the end of the class.  Very few spaces left so call the shop to reserve your space.  503-630-7556

I will  get some new pictures to entice you even more but stop in and check things out.
We would love to see you..

SECOND ESTACADA FLEA MARKET at The Wade Creek House

The weather dawned bright and beautiful for our second Flea Market. We want to thank Jim Pharris for all the organization, our terrific vendors for making it a great day, the Mossy Rock Ramblers for bringing us amazing music in the afternoon and thanks to Amy, Bret, & Arnold for feeding us such great food all day. Here are a few pictures to show you what you missed..

We had such great finds.....

The food booth was very popular. I surprised Bill with a curry dish. Yummmy!

The MOSSY ROCK RAMBLERS were fabulous.. but most of us already know this. They preform for First Friday here in Estacada at Mossy Rock downtown.

Once again, all of us at The Wade Creek House appreciate you.

JUST A GLIMPSE..

It has been awhile since I did a "walk about" and snapped pictures of some of my favorite things. Of those favorite things, these are just a few of them.

This bench is a bit over 12 feet long, over 100 years old, out of the Springwater Church. Only one is for sale - it is rare, lovely, and an amazing find.

This is a very old poultry poster. I have never seen one in such great shape. Quite large & would be wonderful in many places.

This old radio/record player works great and sounds even better. A fun find..

Such a sweet cabinet....with such possibilities

HELLO... HELLO.... Can you hear me know. We have come a long way baby! I think I may be mixing my commercials..

Imagine your dog in this custom made log home......

Great yard art..... on your shed, barn, etc...

These are very popular!

I want to say this is a seal skin trunk. Very unusual... love it.

As I walked through the shop, without my camera, there is so much new, cool stuff. I guess you will just have to make a tour of your own.

Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why....Eddie Cantor

AND REMEMBER, this weekend is our Flea Market. A half acre of vendors, food, and music. Free admission.. Open 9a - 6p

See you then!

CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!

THE WADE CREEK HOUSE

COME FOR A VISIT AND SIT A WHILE...

We had a wonderful day for a garden tour. Beautiful gardens, gracious hosts and hostesses, and inspiration everywhere. Thank you to our garden owners for opening up their gardens to us. Thank you to our “ tourees” for their feedback on what a wonderful day it was. Every garden amazing, inspiring, and motivating. And all for a great cause. The money total has yet to be tallied, but all proceeds from this garden tour will be donated to our Estacada Senior Community Center. Thank you to Pam Vincent for doing such a great job organizing the day.

Next Saturday, July 28th, Linda will be helping us create our own Rustic Small Tool Organizer at The Wade Creek House. Practical, primitive, and perfect for my shed wall. Workshop starts at 11am so call the shop (503-630-7556) to reserve your spot. Cost is $25… this is going to be fun!

We adore chaos because we love to produce order… M Escher

Also this weekend, July 27 and 28, is Estacada’s Summer Celebration. A celebration of art and music. There are fun activities for children with giant puppets, lots of live music, free hands-on art activities for children and adults, a silent art auction, lots of food and the beautiful Broadway Street Art Fair. Plan to spend the day in Estacada! For more information, check out Estacada Summer Celebration 2012 for a complete listing of all the planned activities! We hope to see you!

TO MOB AND TO BE MOBBED..

So much happening, it is hard to keep up. First off, we want to thank Estacada Development Association's Main Street Program AND the Estacada Chamber of Commerce for making us their second CASH MOB site. What is Cash Mob you ask? It is a campaign strategy to promote local, small businesses here in Estacada. How does it work? A date and time is chosen in advance so you can plan on going somewhere. You plan on spending $20 and of course more is ok too. The location is not revealed until 24 hours prior to the mob. Then on the appointed hour, you mob the chosen location and spend that $20. It gives businesses a chance to have a great sales day and to meet/greet new and returning customers and a chance for new customers to meet you. As Carrie said "It was fun, fun, fun! Thank you Estacada!"

Since The Wade Creek House has many members, it was fun to have many of them on hand.

Meet a few of our MOB.... Thank you all for coming!

NOW WE NEED ANOTHER CASH MOB for a very good cause. THIS SATURDAY, JULY 21st, is our SECOND ANNUAL ESTACADA GARDEN TOUR to benefit our Estacada Senior Community Center. Folks around town and a bit out of town, have been working hard getting their gardens ready for touring. Last year the gardens were spectacular, inspiring, and motivating. I can't wait to see this years gardens. Pam Vincent, our wonderful organizer for this event, has done a great job selecting gardens. Remember, if you would like to be part of this tour next year.... let us know! Cost if $15 per person and $25 per couple. All money raised goes to the Senior/Community Center. You can stop by and purchase our tour map early, but maps will not be handed out until day of the tour.

We are looking forward to a wonderful day for a wonderful cause. We hope to see you there!
