Sweet Agatha

We love having chickens at the shop. Kids can gather the eggs, they can talk to them and they talk back. One of the chickens that held a special place in our hearts was Agatha. Agatha was blind. The chickens usually live a year at Wade Creek House before coming to live on our farm and Agatha did live on the farm for awhile.  But being blind on 7 acres did not work well.  She was safer in a contained environment.  She has done well the last few years. All the gals at Wade Creek House would make sure Agatha got put in the chicken house in the cold times, fed her scratch grains by taping a pan on a concrete block, and would give her a love almost every day. It was sad yesterday to find that Agatha had passed away. We will miss you sweet Agatha.. RIP
