Charlene loves all kinds of needlework.  She recently made several of the new cowl style hoods that are so warm and comfy.  Wear it like this when you need it and when you don't just tip if back and the hood is ready to wear when you need it.   Your neck stays warm all the while.  I love mine.  She has several colors... even some for children.  Plus she has a variety of wonderful scarfs.  All are perfect for this weather, perfect for gifts, but I would keep one for yourself too.

Be your own kind of beautiful.....

A HOLIDAY TRADITION and another holiday gift idea...

Rustic and elegant all at the same time.   Using a variety of  rustic vintage pots, Sandy planted them with the elegant paperwhite bulbs.  These bulbs are easy to grow and will fill your home with the most wonderful fragrance.  All you need is water.. just keep your container filled with water so that the bottom of the bulbs stay wet.  This is something you will enjoy for many weeks and then once they are done blooming, you will have the wonderful pot to use for your Spring flowers.

A bit of wonderful

Look at these great, unique ornaments.  Most people know Carrie as a mixed media artist... to me that means she takes a little of this and a little of that, puts it together and something amazing happens.  This Christmas she has created some wonderful ornaments.  Not sure how she does it...  and of course this is just a small sampling that you will find.  Come in and check it out.

This angel looks terrific on a tree, even better on top.

the back of this is a vintage tin mold..

I love her burlap roses.  They look great on a tree, on a package, on a garland.....  all would be great gifts or if you've been nice you could even keep some.
Repurposing turns things into other things which is like magic......

It is fun to make and give ornaments... I cherish all that I have been given.  Check out this ornament made out of an egg shell that we were given in 1978.   Now you have the chance to make one of your own, to keep or to give as a gift, that will be cherished for years to come too.

Below are a couple of samples of ornaments made from egg shells in Nikki's previous class.  This Saturday , besides making ornaments out of egg shells,  Nikki will use the lambs ear plant and poppy seed pods to create unique and one-of-a-kind ornaments.  This is a fun class and you will have a chance to make three wonderful ornaments.  Call a friend and make some great memories.

Class is at 10:30am - 12:30pm and the cost is $25.  There is a limit to class size so registration required.

 I love holiday magic....

Santa came to The Wade Creek House yesterday and what a great day!  We didn't have the great start that we hoped as the picture printer decided not to print.  At 1107 with a long line waiting to see Santa, we gave up on the printer.  Our families were given the option of having their pictures e-mailed to them, pick-up at the shop today, or having their pictures mailed.  EVERYONE was good with those options.  What a relief!  So the rest of Santa day went GREAT.  Everyone has been e-mailed, the pictures will be at the shop when  it opens at 11am today for those that wanted pick-up and one is going in the mail.  Actually, the email option will be available next year as many people preferred it.

And really, nothing could spoil the day.  We saw about 135 children of all ages in 3 hours.  There is something magical about children and Santa.  It is hard to describe in words.

This sweet boy came back as he remembered he had more to say after his picture....

We were thankful for the weather.  Last year it was 18 degrees... this year 50.  The hot cider, coffee, and cookies still tasted good.
I loved all of the kids... check out these 3 sisters with names as beautiful as they are..
Lilyanna, Addison, and Scarlett
I was so wrapped up in listening and watching that I did  not take enough pictures.  But this has to be one of my favorite days at The Wade Creek House.  Thank you for sharing your families with us!
Also thank you to Nikki Mantei, our photographer, and all The Wade Creek House members that shared this wonderful day!
And coming soon is our story about Santa and the tree that the kids were decorating.....
Your lives have touched ours......
