WADE CREEK HOUSE ANTIQUES opened in 2007. Located in an old 1940's home, we have expanded many times so there are many areas for you to browse. Located on an acre in Estacada, Oregon, your children can visit with our chickens (yes, we sell eggs) as you look around.


We are much more than an antiques store. We host community fundraisers, have two

CHAIRS FOR CHARITY


Not everyone is lucky enough to have the gift of good health.  Our dear friend and Wade Creek House member Carrie is one of those that has not been so lucky.  Carrie has a rare incurable lung disease called lymphangioleiomyomatosis or LAM for short.  Being rare, monies allocated for research are small so each year, across the nation, members of the LAM community including patients and their friends and families host fundraisers to help raise money for research and patient support.  This is our SECOND ANNUAL CHAIRS FOR CHARITY FUNDRAISER.  Here you will find chairs created by local artists and supporters that are donated and then auctioned off (via silent auction) with 100% of the proceeds being sent to the LAM Foundation.

The chairs ARE NOW on display at The Wade Creek House with the silent auction June 7th.  If you are unable to attend June 7th, but would like to participate we have made it possible for you to submit an absentee bid.  On our form, you place your bid on the chair or chairs of your choice also listing what your maximum bid would be at the close of auction.  Example: Your initial bid is $25 but you would pay up to $45.  Using your anonymous number, we will bid $25 on your chair.  At 5pm on June 7th, if someone has beat your initial bid but it is still less than your $45 we will bump up your bid for you.  We bid in $5 increments.  Easy!!














Please join Carrie and the rest of the members on June 7st for our silent auction…    refreshments AND DOOR PRIZES will make this a wonderful day.  Above is a sampling of the chairs - not enough space for them all so will show you more soon.

ANOTHER DIY we can help you with .....

In our DIY area, Meridith and Carrie have been having fun with drawers.  Right now we have a large selection to choose from and the idea possibilities are endless.  From using a small one for spices to a larger one for a wall display or coffee table.  Come and see what the girls have done and pick a drawer that works for you.

Precious Gift


What an amazing last few days.  Our son and wife, had their first child... a baby girl.  What a precious gift we were all given.  It is truly remarkable how much love a heart can hold.  She is a beauty and I think when she is a bit older, she will give our two grandsons a run for their money...
                                                                    So true.......

TRASH 2 TREASURE - Small Furniture Workshop



This Saturday, May 17th     10:30a -1pm 
This is such a great class.... you get to work with Carrie to create magic.  With your hands, a tired piece of vintage furniture will become new again using  paint distressing techniques, painters tape and stencils - magic.  Carrie will assist you in executing and learning techniques to transform pieces on your own.  Everything is included in this class..  You will be provided with a variety of paint colors, and small furniture pieces like chairs, end tables, magazine racks, shelves, nightstands, tables - a variety of vintage small furniture pieces to choose from.  Bring a paint shirt and if there is a specific paint color  you wish (satin or flat)  feel free to bring it.  Cost is $75.  Check out these pictures of previous classes.  Don't forget, limited class size so call 503-630-7556 to reserve your spot!

IT'S THAT TIME ....

GARDEN TIME!!  I have scaled back the size of the garden at The Wade Creek House.  It was 50 x 100 and hard to keep up.  So the chickens went in the middle, grass is finally filling in the back (more room for the Outdoor Vintage Markets) and we kept a little cutting garden up front along with a vegetable garden for the chickens.  The day before the rains came my kind husband rototilled and I got the seeds in.  With 4 days of rain and now the sun coming, I expect to see those seeds popping their heads up soon.

BEGINNING CONCRETE LEAF CASTING

This is such a great beginning leaf casting class.  THIS SATURDAY, MAY 10TH   10:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Cost is $25  Nikki walks you through the process of handling the leaves and concrete and you take away a new craft that you can do at your own home.   Everything is included except we ask that you bring a box or board with you to transport your leaves home.  Then on June 14, you can learn advanced techniques at the Advanced Concrete Leaf Casting Workshop.  These make wonderful gifts and décor for around your own home.. Limited class size so call the shop at 503-630-7556 to reserve your spot.    Check out some of our previous classes...

FAMILY

We cherish the relationship we have with the family who lived and grew up in the house that is now The Wade Creek House.  We got another treat this weekend.  Jeannie Fussell (previously Jeannie McConkey) also lived in the house that is now The Wade Creek House.  In fact, it was Jeannie's Uncle Merle (Marshall) that actually built the house.  He did it with the help of Jeannie's dad and grandfather in the 40's.  Her Uncle Merle and Aunt Dorothy lived in the house until they moved to Dufur in the early 60's.  Jeannie lived in the house with her husband and 2 children after that.  Her grandparents had lived next door in a house that sat next to the old corner gas station.  That field is empty now and the old gas station is still there but vacant.   Merle still lives in Dufur, Dorothy passed away last year.  Merle thinks he may have some pictures -  Jeannie is hoping to find  them. I hope she gets lucky.   My husband Bill had noticed an unusual old brick in the field next door and we are thinking it must have been from Jeannie's grandparents home.  Where else could it have come from?  Jeannie took it as a keepsake.
